“The Binge & Today’s TV Landscape” [RFS-SE009]

January 19, 2016 By Ron Dawson

Technology has dramatically changed both how we create and consume content. Today YOU can be your own show runner.

On today’s episode of “Short Ends” I’m joined by frequent guest and my good friend JD Cochran; and this time we’re joined by his wife, Yolanda. In fact, in this week’s episode, Yolanda does most of the talking (which, if you know my buddy JD, this is quite a feat! 😉 Yolanda spent over 12 years at Alcon Entertainment and when she ended her stint, she was head of physical production. As a follow-up, she worked as a consultant at Netflix for about six months. So she brings a wealth of knowledge about “the biz”. We all talk about the effect that binge watching and social media has on content creation, the studios that distribute that content, and how we content creators can benefit.

Radio Film School: A Filmmaker’s Journey

This is the main series of Radio Film School. In season 1 we're exploring the theme: finding your voice and developing a signature style.

Radio Film School: Short Ends

Short Ends:
1. The unused portions of an undeveloped motion picture film reel. Frequently used by indie and student films on low budgets.

2. Short, autonomous Radio Film School documentary or narrative episodes about all things cinema.

Radio Film School
Host Ron Dawson takes you on a journey to discover what it means to be a filmmaker. A show unlike any other for the passionate and aspiring filmmaker, Radio Film School is more of an audio documentary than a traditional podcast. Think of it as This American Life for filmmakers.
