Calling all you freestyle rappers in the Seattle metro area. Do you have what it takes to rap freestyle and hold your own with some of the city’s most talented musicians? If so, we have an opportunity for you to be in a special short film we’re producing. It’s part of a new series highlighting interesting people and places in and around “The Emerald City.” This could be an amazing way to get your name out there, as well as hang out with some of Seattle’s supreme artists. Here’s who you’ll be working with:
Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra: These cats are the real deal. Artistic directors and co-founders Michael Brockman (sax) and Clarence Acox (drums) are coming out with their boy Phil Sparks (stand up bass) to help participate in this epic event.
Ayron Jones of AJ and the Way: Ayron and his band have been blowing up in the Seattle music scene. His blend of rock and blues with just a dash of hip-hop has attracted the likes of Seattle’s own Six-Mix-A-Lot (who produced his last album). Now they’ve recently completed a successful Kickstarter and will be going on a national tour.
RA Scion: RA has a lyrical style and sense that is quick, poignant and profound. He and his partner Vox Mod have reached such a level of acclaim in the Seattle area, that they’ve been invited to perform at this year’s Bumbershoot Festival (alongside such other notable performers as Wu Tang Clang, Elvis Costello, Bootsy Collins, the Replacements, and more).
As a matter of fact. All of these wonderful performers have performed at Bumbershoot. I’m excited about this film project and have no doubt it will be an amazing experience for all involved. We want to create something epic!
