There are very few things that would make me take a break from my social media sabbatical and write a blog post sill ten days out from when I’m scheduled to officially return. But after reading about this I could not resist. My friend and colleague David Perry is trying to raise $23,000 so he and his family can adopt a little HIV+ girl from the Ukraine. David is a filmmaker who shares my passion for using his God-given gifts to make a difference in the world. And now, he’s using his gifts to help make a difference in the world of one little girl. Watch the video and read the text below for more details. Then, help him get one step closer by donating.
Here is video description by David:
If you haven’t heard, we are in the process of adopting a little girl that’s HIV+ from Ukraine. We made this video to go on our “About Us” page on our website: positivelyperry.com.
This weekend the Utah Climbing Club is ascending Mount Gannett (one of the tallest and most remote mountains in the United States) as a fundraiser towards the $23,000 we need to raise in the next few months. You can sponsor a climber (my employee, Travis Richins, is one of them) at positivelyperry.com/?page_id=22. Many people are doing a per mile and summit pledge. The round trip is 40 miles.
For example, if you pledged $1 per mile and then $10 if he reaches the summit, you would be at $50. (If 460 people went that route, it would put us pretty close to what we need!)
Thank you for all your prayers and support so far. We have now handled all the pre adoption expenses and paperwork and been accepted by Ukraine for adoption. Keep those prayers coming!
Special thanks to Chris McClain and Travis Richins for their help with the video!
This is so awesome – I love stories like this and it’s how my family got into film making in the first place. We had a similar call from God a few years ago and we adopted our three youngest children Anna, David, & Bennett from the former Soviet country of Latvia in the Baltics. They will definitely be an answer to a little girl’s prayers!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the shout out Ron. I’m overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and donations. $2000 in the last two days! We still have a long way to go, but I’m confident we’ll get there!
You’re in my prayers David.
