Where in the world is Crossing the 180 today? Poland. Today we have on the show, timelapse guru and HDR video expert Patryk Kizny of Looky Creative. His collection of work has been viewed millions of times on Vimeo and once you see it, you’ll know why. When I first saw his film “The Chapel,” (see below on blog post) I could swear it was a computer generation. I say that in a good way. Not because it looks “fake,” but because the HDR textures were so intriguing, they kind of had the “Lord of the Rings” look. He is that rare breed of patient filmmaker that can sit and wait for frames to tick off, one by one, all night long, to create amazing art.
Patryk will share a little bit about the making of “The Chapel,” how he got into timelapse in the first place, and some insight into shooting HDR video. If timelapse and HDR video is something you’re interested in, you want to listen to this episode.
Bumper music for this show is “Tater City” by Glenn Shambroom, part of the TRUE ROMANCE collection, courtesy of Triple Scoop Music.
