YouTube has become so much more than just a site filled with viral videos of cute kittens or toddlers stoned on laughing gas. It’s a place where some amazing filmmakers go post work that is highly entertaining and inspirational. Today I continue my series on online filmmakers with Matt Koval, one of the winners of YouTube’s NextUp contest. Matt has garnered quite a following and name for himself, particularly because of his comedy series “The Fuplers” (see an episode below). In this episode we learn about how Matt got his start in the biz working for Gracie Films (makers of “The Simpsons”). He goes on to talk about making the decision from working in Hollywood to becoming a school teacher to doing his own thing, making “The Fuplers,” his advice about film school, and much more.
