Koos is a filmmaker after my own heart. He shares great content every day on his popular blog NoFilmSchool.com. He’s passionate about the craft. He’s created a Webby Award-winning film series. He has one of the best resources for beginning DSLR filmmakers I’ve seen…and it’s FREE. He and he Webby award-winning film partner were voted one of Filmmaker Magazines 25 new faces of film. And he has a great radio voice! All of these things make for an excellent podcast interview. Today we learn about how he cleverly got a job with MTV (despite having no experience for the job), how he was “homeless” for up to ten months in order to pursue the creation of his blog, and we’ll learn about everthing he’s putting into the creation of his first feature film “Man Child.” He’s conducting one of the most aggressive, yet potentially most effective Kickstarter campaigns for a film that I’ve seen. In fact, Koo’s work with online video content and marketing plays great into the series I started before my social media sabbatical – online video distribution. (Click here if you want to learn more about his film and possibly support it). If after hearing this interview you don’t get up on go make a film, well, you’re a lost cause.
Next week on the show, we continue my online video distribution filmmaker series with those silly cinematic siblings, The Bui Brothers.
