I continue my series of interviews with Vimeo/Canon “Beyond the Still” filmmakers with today’s interview of Chapter 5 winner Ryan Booth. That’s right, today I have on someone who was actually one of the winners. Ryan is somewhat of a Renaissance man. He started out as a history major, then became an audio engineer, then picked up photography, all before becoming the amazing filmmaker he is today. He was even an actor for a while. However, he primarily considers himself a storyteller. In this engaging interview, Ryan talks about his path to filmmaker, the importance of doing personal work (like his one-take music video film series “Serial Box Presents“), the making of his “Beyond the Still” entry, and what it was like working on the final chapter with Vincent Laforet. With regards to my now signature closing question, Ryan has one of the most interesting theories about the end of “Inception” I’ve yet heard. Don’t miss this one!
