I agree with you totally about them working together. That would be an amazing collaboration. I don’t think it’s jealousy on either part though that’s driving it. As popular, powerful and rich as Tyler is, he has nothing to be jealous about. And from what I know of Spike, I don’t know if that is the kind of thing that would make him jealous. But I could be wrong.

I think Perry has a vision of providing a means vertical integration for the production of media that will support the black voice. As much as I like to agree with Spike, he is still very dependent on the major studios to get his voice heard whereas Perry is focused on building a studio to be a player in the game. I can tolerate the minstrel-like buffoonery of some of Perry’s work if in the end it helps to create the means that other’s who may want to share a more responsible voice can be heard and not dismissed just because it’s perceived financially nonviable.

in France whe don’t know mister Perry but as a Huge Fan of Mr Lee i can tell that the man is on a mission to tell and educate (i’ve got myself been educate watching Malcom X in a movie theater full of black people and being the only white guy i can tell you get the point immediately ! in a good way) but i think you’ll have the same thing with everybody did you go to the hard or to the cheap, Steven Spielberg went to the easy road Martin Scorsese the hard one but at the end of the road how do you want people to think of you ? the one who tried the hardest or the clown who makes everybody laugh i think it’s up to everybody the majority wants to be entertained not to be given moral lessons that’s Human some needs a jet some don’t and equal point of view is valuable to me.
