I set forth to copy it, mock it. But in so doing, I ended up striving to improve on it, and in the end, I made something I was proud of, which I would not have attempted if I continued to dismiss that whole direction out of hand. THat breaks the idea bubble.

As to the industry bubble, I think there’s just so many ways to do that. Do a completely different craft. Get some kids watercolors and paint a picture. Post that. Get feedback. Sure. Your first picture will suck. But it’s not about being perfect, it’s about doing something completely different. Go to the craft store and buy the parts to build a birdhouse. Put it outside. Let the birds enjoy it. Etc.
